iTronic BT (Bluetooth Phone Kit with or without ipod)

The iTronic BT has TWO software packages inside it. The BT software is what does the work of making the iTronic work with your car. The Parrot software does the work of making the iTronic work with your phone.

iTronic BT firmware version 1.9.4 available now (Feb 15 2011)

iTronic BT Parrot firmware version 3.12 available now (Feb 1 2011)

iTronic BT Parrot firmware version 3.21 available now (Feb 1 2011) - not useable on iTronic BT prior to Sept 2010 - Pre-Sept 2010 units simply will not accept the update.

To do the update, download the desired file and COPY it to a blank SD card. The smaller the capacity of the card, the better off you are (ex: 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB - NOT 1GB, 2GB etc). You will not harm a unit by updating it more than once. To update an iTronic:

  1. Copy the downloaded file to a SD card.
  2. Place the SD card in the iTronic memory card slot until it clicks in place.
  3. Turn on the car.
  4. Wait 6 minutes for the update to complete (this step is VERY important, do not wait less than 6 minutes!).
  5. Turn off the car, remove key, open drivers door.
  6. Remove SD card and wait 2 minutes.
  7. Your iTronic is now updated.
  8. Check the SD card in your computer for a new text file on it (itronic.txt) - this file will show the current configuration and version number. If this file does not exist OR the version number is not correct, the update did not happen.

iTronic BT USB (BLACK Bluetooth Phone / ipod KIT)

The iTronic BT USB is updatable via conventional memory stick. This update consists of TWO files that must be done one at a time and in the following order!

1. Place the following FIRMWARE update file on the memory stick and insert into the USB port of the iTronic BT USB. Wait approximately 2 minutes with power on. Remove the memory stick and turn the car off, remove key and leave and lock car for 3 minutes.

iTronic BT USB FIRMWARE upgrade version 12.31.11 available now (January 12, 2012)

2. Place BLUETOOTH upgrade file below on the memory stick and insert into the USB port of the iTronic BT USB. Wait approximately 8 minutes with power on. DO NOT POWER OFF THE CAR DURING THIS 8 MINUTE WAIT, AND DO NOT UPDATE FOR LESS THAN 8 MINUTES. Remove the memory stick and turn the car off, remove key and leave and lock car for 3 minutes. You will need to contact us via email for one additional file that will be customized for your specific car after updating this firmware.

iTronic iPod AUDIO (NON-BLUETOOTH Kit)

This unit is fully upgradable after installation in the car - new software updates will be posted here. They can also be emailed to you with a request or we can also mail you an update SD memory card for $19.00.

The iTronic Audio has ONE software package inside it. The firmware software is what does the work of making the iTronic work with your car.

iTronic iPod Audio firmware version 3.2.0 available now

To do the update, download the desired file and COPY it to a blank SD card. The smaller the capacity of the card, the better off you are (ex: 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB - NOT 1GB, 2GB etc). You will not harm a unit by updating it more than once. To update an iTronic:

iTronic SATELLITE XM/SIRIUs update

This unit is fully upgradable after installation in the car - new software updates will be posted here. They can also be emailed to you with a request or we can also mail you an update SD memory card for $19.00.

The iTronic SAT has ONE software package inside it. The firmware software is what does the work of making the iTronic work with your car. NOTE: The 2004-2005 S Class, 2005 SL Class, and 2004-2005 CL Class have a Siemens made radio that was designed with limited memory capacity to hold all of the new categories and channels that Sirius/XM added after the merger. All of the standard package channels are accessible, but some extended programming may not be accessible. We intend to create a 'work-around' of combining categories to take advantage of unused space. This is NOT a bug in the system, but simply a limitation of the radio as it was created at that time. We are excited to be able to publish this workaround, as we will be the only provider of Mercedes Sirius/XM equipment that will be able to deliver it to you! We expect a workaround to be published in February of 2012.

iTronic SAT firmware version 1.03.03 available now (posted December 26th, 2011)

  4. Wait 6 minutes for the update to complete (this step is VERY important, do not wait less than 6 minutes!).
