UPDATE NOTES: WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE UPDATING UNITS THAT HAVE NO OUTSTANDING ISSUES. MOST SOFTWARE UPDATES ARE TO ADDRESS NEW CAR MODELS..... BOTTOM LINE, IF YOUR UNIT WORKS NOW, DO NOT UPDATE IT FOR THE SAKE OF UPDATING.

This unit is fully upgradable after installation in the car - new software updates will be posted here. They can also be emailed to you with a request or we can also mail you an update SD memory card for $19.00.

The iTronic BT has TWO software packages inside it. The BT software is what does the work of making the iTronic work with your car. The Bluetooth software does the work of making the iTronic work with your phone.

To do the update, download the desired file and COPY it to a blank SD card. The smaller the capacity of the card, the better off you are (ex: 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, up to 1GB- NOT 2GB and up). You will not harm a unit by updating it more than once. To update an iTronic:

1. Copy the downloaded file to a SD card.
2. Place the SD card in the iTronic memory card slot until it clicks in place.
3. Turn on the car.
4. Wait 6 minutes for the update to complete (this step is VERY important, do not wait less than 6 minutes!).
5. Turn off the car, remove key, open drivers door.
6. Remove SD card and wait 2 minutes.
7. Your iTronic is now updated.
8. Check the SD card in your computer for a new text file on it (itronic.txt) - this file will show the current configuration and version number. If this file does not exist OR the version number is not correct, the update did not happen.
